My trip to Madrid

Hi, we are Elisabet, Clàudia Vallmajó, Claudia Guilana and Oleg Mumbrú, and last april we went on a trip to Madrid with our ESO 2 classmates.


FIRST DAY:

At 7 o'clock, we went to the school and we took a bus to Girona. There, we waited for the train (AVE) and we recorded some videos. At 11:45 we arrived to Madrid. Another bus took us to a hostel called Motion and we left our luggage there. After that we visited the “Congreso de los Diputados” and some friends like Clàudia Vallmajó, did an oral presentation about it to the class like Clàudia Vallmajó.At 14:30 we had lunch and at 15:45 we visited the Museo del Prado. Some of our classmates like Claudia G, explained some paintings to the class. When we finished, we went to Parque del Retiro and there we had one hour for free time.In the afternoon, we visited la Puerta de Alcalá where we sang a song about it. Finally we took an underground to go to la Opera square.At 20:30 we had dinner at Fresco and we went to the hostel to sleep.


SECOND DAY:

At 09:00 we had breakfast and we went on foot to Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real's gardens and to the Almudena's cathedral. Then we had lunch at Fresco, the same restaurant that we went on the first day. In the afternoon, we went to a presentation about the Xi'an warriors, which was really good. After that, we walked around Plaza Neptuno, Cibeles and the Council of Madrid. When we fiinished, we ate the famous “Bocata de Calamares” in Plaza Mayor. Then we had free time and we went to the hostel to sleep and watch the football match on the TV.


THIRD DAY:

Like the second day we had breakfast and then, we made the luggage. When we finished, we walked along la Gran Via until la Plaza de España. After that, we had free time and we went to the Templo de Debot and the Senado.At 13:30 we had lunch at the same restaurant called Fresco. After that we came back to the Motion hostel and we took the bags to leave Madrid. We arrived at Atocha Station where we had one hour for free time and bought some sweets. At 16:00, we caught the AVE which took us to Girona. At 20:02, we arrived to Girona and a bus took us to Banyoles. At 20:45 we arrived at school where our parents were waiting for us.It was a really great trip! We had a lot of fun there!

Hi, My name's Clàudia Vallmajó and I live in South London. I like the area where I live so I want to improve it. 

 In my opinion there isn't anywhere for young people to go. There aren't any facilities for them. As a result, young people spend all their time hanging around on the street. There are sometimes problems with vandalism and graffiti. 

 I think the council should do something about this. I'm sure they must have some locals to build a youth café.

Claudia: Xenia? Where are you? What's happened?

Xenia: I'm at the sea. I was sailing near the rock and I hit it. My boat is going down!

Claudia: Are you OK? Can you get out of the boat?

Xenia: No, I think I've broken my leg. I can't move it and it really hurts. What can I do? I see an island but it's far away...

Claudia: Don't panic! Let's phone the police and the coastguard. They're going to find you!

Xenia: OK, but hurry up! I can't wait for more. I'll be in the water soon.

Claudia: OK, OK hang on! I'm sure that the police will come soon.

Xenia: Claudia! I can't move!

Xenia: I'm in the water, I can't breath! Help!

A formal letter

Dear Sir or Madam
 I am the captain of a cycling club in London, England. The name of the club is The Amsterdam Sharks. I am writing to you because we are planning to participate in a big competition next year and we are looking for sponsors.

 The competition will take place in May. It will be a big event with 20,000 spectators. Clubs and fans from twenty three countries are going to be in London for this event.

My last weekend

On Saturday morning I did all the homework we had. After lunch, on Saturday afternoon, all of my friends and I, went at Xenia's house to make-up and disguised of Snow-white. On Sunday I went with my cousin Montse and my uncle to Font Romeu, in France to ski. We passed all the morning skiing and we came back to Banyoles in the afternoon.

A biography: Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik, a member of One Direction

Hello, my name is Clàudia and today I'm going to talk about Zayn Malik. First about his personal life and family, second about his career and finally about his relationships.So let's start!

About his personal life:

Zain Javaad Malik also called Zayn Malik is a member of One Direction along with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. He was born in West Lane, Baildon, Bradford on the 12^th January of 1993. Now, he has 21 years old.

He's the son of a British-Pakistani father and English mother. He has one older sister, and two younger sisters.

About One Direction:
In 2010, when he was 17 years old, Zayn auditioned in Manchester for the seventh series of The X factor. He sang “Let me love you” and Simon, Louis and Nicole liked his audition. Simon Cowell wanted to form a group with all the boys and they called it One Direction. After that, they signed for Syco Records and now they have three albums: Up all night, Take me home and Midnight Memories. They did Up all Night tour, Take me home tour and now, they are doing Where We Are tour, also called WWAT'14. On the 8^th of July of 2014 they will be at the“Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys” in Barcelona. It'll be amazing!!

About his relationships:
His first kiss was at the age of nine. He has gotten two ex-girlfriends: Geneva Lane and Rebecca Ferguson, but now he's engaged to Perrie Edwards, a member of a girl band called Little Mix.

A report about a survey

The topic of the survey was "Your opinions about the future". The class of 2n ESO of Casa Nostra school, did the survey and in general they were positive about the future. These are the results:

Everybody thinks that humans will exist in the next millennium, and more than half of the class think that the world will be a better place because we'll reduce the pollution. Some people think that we won't be more intelligent in the future.

About half of the people in the group think that space won't be normal in the next century, and  nobody thinks that humans will live on other planets in the future. Everybody says that they won't travel into space because they'll be afraid.

A biography: Joaquín Cortés

Joaquín Cortés was a Spanish dancer. He was born in Córdoba in 1969. He moved to Madrid on 1981 and then he went to New York on 1999.

He started to dance when he was twelve years old and he went on the Spanish National Ballet when he was fiftenn years old.

His most famous shows are Pasión Gitana, Soul and Live. He's characteristics are explosive, original and athletic.

A story about a rescue

The rescue happened while we were skiing in the Everest last weekend. It was scary because there was a lot of snow.

I was with my family and we were skiing down the Mount Everest. We were exploring the mountain when we saw a married couple shouting. An avalanche was coming behind them. A helicopter was watching all the zone, and as soon as it saw the problem, it went to the people quickly.

The helicopter took down a scale and the rescuers could climb down and rescued the married couple. They were brave because the avalanche was really hard and the mountain was very high.

An event in the past

A MEMORABLE DAY I remember, my 12th -year-old birthday. It was a very memorable day.

 First, we finished the school at 5 o'clock and like some days, I went to Xènia's house. When I arrived to her home, there were my best friends at the door. I didn't expect it! They said “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”, I was very thrilled. Then, we made a big snack, with a chocolate cake, it was delicious! After that, we did our homework, and when we finished this, I went home.

 There were my best friends and our families. I remember the cat called Nino clearly because she was sleeping all the time. It was a really funny day and I felt very happy.

My ideal home

Here we are in my ideal home. It's a modern flat in New York. It's quite big and it's got everything. It's got three bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, an office, and a living room. The living room has got a small balcony and you can see Central Park from it.

On an ideal noon we're all here. My mum and I are eating in the kitchen. My brother is playing computer games. He's in the office. My dad is in the living room. He's sitting in the sofa.

My favorite room is the office. It's got a wide long table, a big computer and a lot of shelves. I like this room because I can be quiet and I can study very well.

My last summer

Hi! My name is Claudia and I'm 13. Today I'll talk about my last summer holidays. First I'm going to talk about L'Arcada, second about Pals, third about Carcassonne, fourth about Platja d'Aro and This is us.

L'ARCADA, AN ENGLISH CAMP
 On 23rd July, I went to L'Arcada's English camp. I learnt a lot of English because all the instructors were from USA and also there were some boys and girls from there. Everyday we woke up very early, then we had breakfast and after that in groups we did different activities depending on the day. There were different activities like: Archery, climbing, basketball, cycling... When we finished the activities, we had lunch and in the afternoon we did English class. Then, we went to the swimming pool if it was hot. After that we had dinner and we did some night activities. This camp lasted for one week from 23rd to 29th July. It was an unforgettable experience!

PALS
On 6th August, I went to an apartment in Pals with my uncle and my cousin Montse. There were more people but I didn't meet them. In the mornings we went to the beach and then we had lunch. After lunch we went to the swimming pool for one hour. Then we had dinner, sometimes in a restaurant. In the evenings we went to the forest with walkie-talkies. It was fantastic!

CARCASSONNE
On 26th August, I went four days to Carcassonne, France. I went with my parents, my brother and my cousin. In the mornings we went to visit the castle. Then we had lunch and we went again to the castle to visit all the mediaeval side. And in the evenings we went to visit all the town. One day, we went to Lac de la Cavayère, is an artificial lake near Carcassonne. It was a wonderful trip!

PLATJA D'ARO
 On 29th August, my mother and I went to Platja d'Aro, to Xènia's apartment. Everyday, we went to the beach and in the afternoon we went to the shops and for a walk in the streets. One day, we went with Maria Port, Maria Serra, Xènia Tubert, Clàudia Guilana and her friends, to see "This is us",
a film from ONE DIRECTION. The best film ever!

Cèlia Estudis: She went to an English camp in Banyoles, and she spent five days in Vall d'Aran.
